Esterbrook #914 Radio Pen – DRAFT

DRAFT – This page is incomplete. More information will be added at a later date, including updating the Reference section.

Description:

Comments:

  • This was the pen with which Charles Schultz drew every single Peanuts cartoon strip. In 1952, when Esterbrook mentioned that they were stopping production of all of their steel pens, the story is that Schultz bought every box he could find because he said he would stop drawing the strip if he couldn’t use this pen.
  • As a result of this story, this is a fairly rare and always expensive pen when found in the wild. But if you want to experience why Charles Schultz liked this pen so much, you can just use a regular #14 Bank Pen. It’s the exact same pen, just without the coating.
