Description:
- Name(s): The Blackstone Pen, Blackstone
- Shape: Long Stub
- Finishes: Nickel, Black, Gold
- Tip: Stub
- Prices: 75¢ per gross, $1.00 per gross – nickel
Comments:
- “A broad stub point, for Lawyers’ use, and backhand writing.”
- “Coarse stub engrossing”
- “Retained for war-time production”
- “Firm, broad stub. Engrossing Pen.”
- One of their broadest stubs.
- I’ve only ever seen examples in the black finish. The 1890 “Esterbrook Pens and What They Can Do” is the last time any finish besides black is mentioned.
- In some advertisements, this is sometimes called a Signature Pen, and it would make a rather dramatic (and large) signature!
- One of Esterbrook’s more popular pens. Since these weren’t commonly used as everyday writers, being so broad, you can often find partial boxes or larger groups of them.
