Comments:
- “Fine point and flexible action; much liked by penmen.” – 1883
- These spring type of pens, with the large cut in the middle, all derive from an original design by Myer Phineas and captured in his 1853 patent.

- The Esterbrook #126 Double Spring was another Esterbrook that used this type of central cut to improve the springing action of the pen.
