The purpose of the Esterbrook Project is to generate a complete list of dip pen nibs manufactured by The Esterbrook Company over the years. Contributions of information to further this are greatly appreciated.

As e-mails are received with information and interesting comments, I will post extracts here unless requested not to. For technical reasons, this is the wrong kind of web page to use as a forum or blog, so this page will be more or less static (slowly changing). I will even post extracts of negative comments if they use intriguingly colorful language.

Bernie asks:    You sure have a lot of Esterbrook nibs listed. Are you going to set up links to the ones you have listed?

Answer:    Yes, I'm working on it, slowly I admit. One of my objectives is to find proof that these nibs really existed at some point in time. Unfortunately, I suffered a computer crash and lost a lot of the data I had collected. I have been scouring the web for a lot of the references that I lost. After several unsatisfactory experiences with wiki-type software,  I decided to go old school with a 3 ring binder to hold the data. I then massage the data and build a page for a nib. Often,  the only information I have is just enough to confirm or suspect a nib's existence. I do have some photos and writing samples up for some nibs, but I am afraid many of these nibs are gone forever and will never be seen again.  Thanks, Phil
