Esterbrook #575 Surrogate |
Nib Loaned by Anthony Milionta | ||
Description: A stub pen with a crescent moon vent hole. |
Remarks: Introduced in 1896 (The American Stationer, Vol 40, #23, 12-3-1896, P 994) "The Esterbrook Steel Pen Company has placed on the market a new pen which is called the "Surrogate" and which is herewith illustrated. It is a long bodied pen, with a short, narrow stub point, and will meet with the approval of writers who like a rather stiff, easy writing pen, with plenty of grip for the writer. It is handsomely finished, in which respect it is like all the Esterbrook productions." |
Reference: The existence of this pen is confirmed or surmised by the following: The American Stationer, Vol 40, #23, 12-3-1896, P 994 |
