ESTERBROOK #331 SCRATCH KNIFE


Esterbrook # 331 Scratch Knife


Description: 

A straight body with a trowel-shaped head and pinched waist. Gray






Remarks: 

The scratch knife was the original eraser. It was used to scrape ink off vellum (animal skin) to correct mistakes. It can still scrape ink off today's heavier papers and Bristol boards. Scratch knives are little used today.

This scratch knife has a standard radius heel and can be mounted in standard pen holders.
