Esterbrook #303 Extra Fine

Description:

Remarks:

Description in the 1879 price list says this pen was replaced by the #333 Extra Fine.

The 1867 lawsuit (Gillott vs Esterbrook, NY) confirms that Esterbrook had produced a #303 which was a copy of the Gillott #303. Gillott won and Esterbrook had to cease production of their #303. The #333 which replaced it does not look like the Gillott #303, however.

Reference:  The existence of this pen is confirmed or surmised by the following:

1867 New York Supreme Court Records

Listed  in the Trade Price List of the Esterbrook Steel Pen Company (The American Stationer, September 4, 1879) (Contributed by Andrew Midkiff)
