Esterbrook # 17 Drawlet Pen (Pointed) |
Description: A steel body with both a step-up and a slight flare, and an over-reservoir. The over-reservoir has the vent hole found on some Drawlet pens. Little flexibility. The bottom photograph shows the two main slits with two small oval vent holes. Essentially, this pen is essentially the #499 Music nib with a reservoir on the top. |
Remarks: This is another pen used extensively for monoline lettering along with the #0 Drawlet pen. The two main slits and two vent holes are like those found on music nibs. The over-reservoir gives an large ink capacity which makes it popular for cartoon or monoline lettering. |
Reference: The existence of this pen is confirmed or surmised by the following: Listed in the 1938 Esterbrook Pen Catalog Seen in Esterbrook Salesman Sample Cases Seen in Store Counter Display Cards |
