Esterbrook #106 Elastic Pen

Description:

A sharp pointed pen with a leaf or spear shaped head. A pinched waist. A double diamond vent hole. The head between the vent hole and the waist is reverse bent with a fold down the middle creating a raised spine.

Esterbrook 106 Elastic

Remarks:

The bottom pen is a Perry & Co. #27 Extra Fine shown for comparison. The two styles are very close differing only in that the Esterbrook pen is slightly larger. This illustrates that pen manufacturers often copied what they considered successful styles of other manufacturers. Or it could mean that this style was made by one manufacturer and the other contracted with them for their pens to be made.

Description in the 1883 Esterbrook Catalog
