Esterbrook #968 Radio - Majestic Style

Description:
The
pen is spear-shaped with a sharp tip. The vent hole is like a tear
drop. A dorsal ridge extends from the vent hole to the imprint area. This is a large pen and may not fit standard penholders. It was a very tight fit for the pen releaser style pen holder.

Remarks:
This
style is based on the #368 Majestic. I presume this is the earlier
version of the #968 Radio Pen and was later replaced by the Mariner
version of the #968.
Generally, when Esterbrook had different
versions of a pen number, the differences were in the imprint or the
materials used. The pen style remained the same across all versions.
This is the only insatance I know of where Esterbrook used two
different pen styles for the same pen number. The other style used is
the Mariner style.
