Esterbrook # 788 Oval Point |
||
Description: A pinched waist body with a spoon head and sharp, turned-up tip. The vent hole is a large baseball bat shape. Firm flex. Bright finish. |
||
Remarks: Intended as a writer. The large baseball bat vent hole and spoon head may have been intended to hold a lot of ink. I am leery of actually trying to try it with a full load of ink, fearing blobbing. Description in 1938 Esterbrook Catalog "Slightly flexible, medium, oval point. Most popular oval point pen. Ultrasmooth. Gray finish. Gold plated"
Description in the Zanerian Catalog
"The
points of these pens have a perfect oval that comes in contact with the
paper and makes them glide over the surface with a smoothness that is
delightful."
