Esterbrook # 757 School Medium Oval |
Description: A straight bodied pen with a sharp turn-up point. A blocky vent hole. No slits. |
Remarks: The turned-up point indicates this was intended for utilitarian use, meaning doing a lot of writing. The name "School" is a further indication of the utilitarian purpose of this pen. By defining the pen with the name "School", Esterbrook, and other pen companies, were attempting to make their product more easily identifieable when various school districts made their supply purchases. Description in Seven Popular Esterbrook School Pens: "Medium, oval point. Extra-smooth even on soft papers. Type of pen students will use later in life." Description in salesman sample case "School oval (broader than #756)"
