Esterbrook #400 Columbia Stub Pen |
Description: A broad stub with a "V" vent hole. Bromze finish. |
Remarks: This pen does not carry "Esterbrook" on its imprint. However, it has been listed in an Esterbrook Price list. Esterbrook also owned the Columbia Pen name by World War I. I suspect there was an earlier independent Columbia Pen company that was eventually bought up by Esterbrook. I also don't know if that company manufactured their own pens or had them made by Esterbrook. As you can see from the writing sample, this pen makes a broad line. The line is very juicy and makes you wish for blotting papers. Also, if you overload the pen with ink, it readily wants to blob. |
