Esterbrook # 355 Art & Drafting Pen | ||
Description: The second in the "Art & Drafting" series, this is a straight-bodied, sharp pointed pen with a small oval vent hole located forward close to the tip. Very fine, very flexible. Blue finish. |
||
Remarks: This pen is only slightly less delicate than the #354 pen. But it is still delicate and easily damaged. Like the #354, this pen is somewhat sensitive to ink viscosity. The forward position of the vent hole means it has low ink capacity. The body diameter is smaller, like the #354, and is not securely held in normal pen holders. I have to use an old Esterbrook holder with the pen releaser mechanism. The sharp, fine tip of the nib often caught on the upstroke. I had to piece the writing script together with downstrokes. Description in 1938 Esterbrook Catalog "A superlatively fine, small pen - super flexible. Blue finish"
